The study discusses the topic of ”Development Indicators in the Cities of Giza Governorate”. This study falls within the geography of environmental development category
The study includes four chapters preceded by an introduction on the importance of the subject under study, the study of the location of the study area, the reasons for choosing the topic, the objectives of the study, the study curricula and their methods, and the study ends with a conclusion containing some findings and recommendations, followed by a list of references.
The first chapter deals with the demographic indicators of the population of the cities of Giza Governorate in 2017, where the population growth index and population distribution indicators such as numerical and relative distribution, the percentage of change and density and its development were studied, then a study to assess the geographical distribution. The chapter also deals with a study of the demographic characteristics of the population, including the gender and age composition, as well as a study of the educational status, average of years of education per capita, marital status, and concluded with a study of the population future for the urban population of Giza.
The second chapter presents the educational indicators for the cities of Giza Governorate. It studies many educational services indicators pre-university education stages in the governorate’s urban areas which includes primary, preparatory and secondary education of general and technical quality in 2017, including the density of classes in each of them and the efficiency of the educational process in the previous stages, and also a study for spatial analysis for educational services in the cities of Giza governorate, such as the analysis using the scope of influence and its application on the different educational stages, and a study of the statistical analysis of educational services in the cities of Giza Governorate, such as the Lorenz curve and the Gini coefficient. The chapter is concluded with a study of the future assessment of educational services in the cities of the governorate.
While the third chapter includes health indicators for the cities of Giza Governorate in 2017. It deals with the geographical distribution of health services in the governorate’s urban area, such as the distribution of hospitals, the number of beds, and a study of doctors’ and nursing staff indicators, as well as public pharmacies and ambulance facilities, while the second section of the chapter deals with a study of the indicators of the water and sanitation network in the cities of Giza Governorate and the problems of each of them in 2017.
The fourth and final chapter discusses the economic and service indicators in the cities of Giza Governorate. The first part of it deals with the study of economic indicators such as the study of establishments and their workers, the composition of the population according to the economic activity departments, the practical situation and the workforce, the dependency ratio and the unemployment index, while the second part of the chapter deals with the study of service indicators in the examined cities, such as the study of electric power, communication , post, and roads network and their distribution, as well as cultural development
As for the conclusion, it presents the most important findings acquired from the study, and the recommendations it reached. |
