The study tackles the subject as : studying the industrial Areas in the northern upper Egypt region, in industry Geography.
The area of the study is located at the southern region of Greater Cairo , it is one of the developing regions all over Egypt in particular Industrial sector.
The study region has distinct strategic geographical location , where there are all industrial elements that will assist in localizing different industries.
Agriculture is considered the main activity in the region , but the government has established numbers of industrial regions at the upper Egypt governments, so as to put the region on the industrial developing map to get benefits of the economic sources, natural and human sources that the region is distinct.
There are some minor obstacles that will constrain or hinder the industrial development, and the activity of these regions to have its real location on the Egyptian industrial developing map.
These obstacles are the non – completion of the infrastructure of the industrial regions , some difficulties in transportation, trained works.
The industrial regions in the northern upper Egypt involve ( 681) factories ,with capacity ( 58086) with capacity ( 58086) workers, and investment of 12 billion Egyptian pounds till the year 2017,as the private sector controlled the majority of these factories ,in addition to that the investment sector and the military forces factories.
The thesis is composed of five chapters preceded by the preface as follows: ( The importance of the subject , reasons for selecting , its aims, previous studies, data sources, the methodology of the study, its styles, steps of the study and obstacles).
The study ended with the conclusion that contains abstract of the thesis , results and findings and recommendations that have been reached to.
Establish in the industrial regions implements / achieved great benefits to the industrial sector , it is the suitable environment for flourishing , developing the various industries , planning the industrial region on the basis of similarities the industries specialties that involve input and output ,that will lead to integrating these industries and it will reflect positively in planning its productivity cost, and it will implement advantages for the great product.
It also helps all factories in one region to get use of the services and available facilities.
The industrial regions work to achieve the industrial linkage , which lead to reducing transportation cost, gathering the minor industries in one region to facilitate providing the technical consultation. Due to the importance of these regions , as it is the core of the industrial development at its establishing locations. Therefore , the study paid attention to study the establishment ,distribution, extending , analysis , measuring the industrial quantum in these regions , the obstacles that will prevent the development , and continuation of progressing and success , and showing the importance of the industrial regions in northern upper Egypt region.
The first chapter deals with the geographical distribution of the industry in northern upper Egyptian region, in addition to that the sector and structural distribution of industries, as well as geographical distribution of the industrial regions in the provinces of the region , depending on three variables which are:-
* The number of factories, workers , and investments for the purpose of standing at the real industrial geographical picture , drawing the industry map in the region, indicate its important sectors, and industrial structures ,measuring the industrial variables ,concentration ,and geographical scattering and spreading.
The first chapter deals with the geographical distribution of the industry in northern upper Egypt region, in addition to that the sector and structural distribution of industries, as well as geographical distribution of the industrial regions in the provinces of the region , depending on three variables which are:-
* The number of factories , workers and investments for the purpose of standing at the real industrial geographical picture, drawing the industry map in the region, indicate its important sectors, and industrial structures , measuring the industrial variables ,concentrating , and geographical scattering.
* The second chapter studies localization of the industrial regions in northern upper Egypt region, determine the primary and secondary elements, factors , that help in localization the factories at its present locations as raw materials, market, energy ,transportation, workers , investments , water and drainage ,area of land, natural environment, pollution of environment personal and historical considerations , as well as governmental policies.
Chapter-3 , it involves the industrial structure of industrial northern upper Egypt provinces , the relatively importance of the industrial regions on the region level ,as its number reaches 10 industrial provinces.
The industrial region at Koum Osheim represents the primarily relatively importance, then the industrial region at Bayaad AL-Arab, industrial region at eastern Matahraa, which ranked the second level.
In the third level , comes the industrial region at Koum Abu Rady ,as well as indication the geographical districts of the industrial regions ,recognizing the element of industry capacity( industrial Quantum) at AL –Darrasa region.
Chapter – 4 , reviews an applied study over the industrial region in Eastern Matahraa, studying the volumetric composition of the industrial region, as well as volumetric composition on the level of industrial sectors inside the industrial region where the second category which represents minor factories with the capacity 10-50 workers were prevailed.
The fifth chapter begins with the industrial problems , the future of industrial development at northern upper Egypt region, to indicate the problems that the industry in the region is suffering.
The chapter itself also tries to fix the suggested solutions to overcome these problems, in addition to that, to view the future of industry in the region via indicating the proper regions to localize new factories ,rather than the proposed industries that will be established there |
